Brazil Mitchell 1921-1990

In front of what was her home in Baxer, Alabama.

Our mother did everything she could do for us. I can remember seeing her at night beside her bed praying. Probably thanking God for what we had and asking for strength for the next day. Even though we were poor she, along with our father, made sure we never went to bed hungry. She taught us to love God, to love each other and to love our friends. Above all else she loved us with all her heart and soul.
Thanks for teaching me to be the woman I have become. I really miss you. (Daughter Cynthia Jackson)
The greatest mother and woman that I know. I really appreciate her for the spiritual foundation that she gave me. I really miss you. (Daughter Janice Dixon)
Thanks Mom. We miss you.
I have added one her favorite songs by Mahalia Jackson "Move On Up A Little Higher."
